2021-02 Street Rehabilitation Project Information
The 2021 Street Rehabilitation Project will take place in the Northeast corner of Fridley in the Rice Creek Terrace and Spring Valley and Harris Lake Neighborhoods.
September 17, 2021 - The week of September 20th the contractor will be sawing and sealing control joints in the new streets. This is the last major task of construction. The contractor will return to finish a few minor close out items. More information in the Sept 17 mailed notice (PDF).
September 10, 2021 - Starting the week of September 13th, the contractor will be sawing and sealing control joins in the new streets. This is the last major task of construction. There will be minor close out items in the following weeks. Please see the Sept 10 emailed notice (PDF) for more information, including important boulevard restoration information and how to care for your restore lawn.
September 3, 2021 - The Contractor will install the final lift of pavement for the streets that aren’t completely paved yet starting Tuesday, September 7th. Please see the September 3rd emailed notice (PDF) for information on the paving schedule.
August 28th, 2021 - Paving will be starting this next week. Please see the August 28th emailed notice (PDF) for information on scheduling and parking information.
August 21st - The following week will be fairly quiet in the project site to allow concrete time to cure. More details, including important parking info, is in the August 21st emailed notice (PDF).
August 13th - Watermain replacement has been completed on Monroe St, Brookview Drive and Rice Creek Terrace. During the week of August 16th, the contractor will begin pouring concrete curb and cutter in the project area. Important information about parking and how long the curing phase will take is in the August 13th emailed notice (PDF).
August 6th - The contractor has completed the installation of the watermain on Monroe Street, Brookview Drive and both sections of Rice Creek Terrace. Water Services have been completed for Monroe Street and Brookview Drive. Homeowners will still be on temporary water until the new watermain has been tested and activated. August 2nd - Temporary Mailbox Cluster - while the contractor conducts watermain replacement, portions of Rice Creek Terrace and Brookview Drive will have mail service temporarily moved to a mailbox cluster on the corner of Rice Creek Terrace and Brookview Drive. More information in the official emailed August 2nd notice (PDF). Affected residents will also be receiving a hand delivered copy of this notice as well.
July 30th - Watermain Replacement has been completed on Monroe Street. Temporary water will remain until new watermain has been tested and activated. Rice Creek Terrace will begin watermain replacement on Monday, August 2nd. More information in the official emailed July 30th notice (PDF).
July 23, 2021 - Temporary water has been staged for the properties affected by the watermain replacement on Rice Creek Terrace, Monroe Street and Brookview Drive. Watermain replacment will begin with Monroe Street on July 26th and then will move to Rice Creek Terrace by the end of the week. Concrete curb and gutter removal will also be taking place the week of July 26th.More information in the official emailed July 23rd notice (PDF).
July 16, 2021 - The Contractor is preparing to replace watermain on Rice Creek Terrace, Monroe Street and Brookview Drive. Rice Creek Terrace watermain replacement will begin Monday, July 26th, followed by Monroe Street and Brookview Drive. On Monday, July 19th the Contractor will begin laying pipes on the ground to prepare for the temporary service. More information in the official emailed July 16 notice (PDF).
July 9th, 2021 - Centerpoint Energy has been doing their work and we anticipate that our contractor, GMH Asphalt will begin mobilizing to start the week of July 19th. More information in the official emailed notice (PDF).
June 24th, 2021 - We emailed the second project notice to all email subscribers on June 24th. This includes announcement of the awarded contractor and a tentative construction schedule and start date. View the notice (PDF).
May 3rd, 2021 - The first project notice was mailed via US Mail and to those signed up for email notifications the week of May 3rd, 2021. Due to current meeting restraints with the Covid-19 situation, we are unable to have an in-person open house to discuss the project and give an overview. However, we have made a virtual presentation for you to view. This presentation introduces Engineering staff, gives an overview of the project, discusses the assessment process and explains what to expect during construction.
